2019 is about to end and socialprotection.org has much to celebrate! During its fourth year of activity, the platform welcomed more than 825 new members into its network, now comprising more than 4,600 people from all over the world.
We are also happy to announce that we are receiving applications for the 5th run of the TRANSFORM online course, an innovative training programme on building and managing social protection floors in Africa. Don’t miss it!

The ‘databases’ content type was created in 2019 to facilitate dissemination of consolidated data on social protection. This month, we highlight the Disability Benefits Database, developed by Development Pathways, which provides a global overview of social protection schemes for persons with disabilities in low- and middle-income countries.
Also, in 2019 an important partnership was established for socialprotection.org’s blogs, featuring Ugo Gentilini’s weekly social protection content compilation post. Additionally, this year’s Ambassadors Programme resulted in the production of more than 25 blog posts addressing key issues related to social protection, which can be accessed here.
The Social Protection in Crisis Contexts is an Online Community dedicated to practitioners and researchers working on social protection across the humanitarian-development nexus. It features the most up-to-date content on the topic, including material from webinars, conferences and publications, such as the SPaN Guidance Package prepared by the European Commission to examine social protection as an effective short- and long-term response to shocks, crises and displacements. Join the platform to have access to these and other expert content.
Become a member of the Community of Practice on SSC for Children (CoP-SSC4C) and connect with over 170 practitioners, experts, partners, and individuals from different sectors who promote and support South-South and triangular cooperation (SSTC) for the purpose of advancing the rights and welfare of children.
