Welcome to the latest edition of our COVID-19 special newsletter. Find below a variety of sources which bring the social protection responses for the crisis that the disease has caused worldwide. We hope the experiences shown in each hyperlink serve as an inspiration for more effective measures. We invite you to regularly visit and explore our Online Community, which is updated daily.
The sweeping repercussions of the COVID-19 outbreak require responses that extend far beyond the health sector, including measures to assist people in need and protect them from falling into poverty. In this scenario, social protection measures have become more important than ever. Access the COVID-19 Online Community for up-to-date, global, regional and country-level content on social protection policies and operational measures in response to the pandemic. Since the beginning of this initiative, the Community has had more than 8,000 accesses. We suggest you regularly visit two sections of the Online Community. One of them brings mappings and resources elaborated by various institutions that may be useful for you. On the other you will find webinars that are not hosted by the socialprotection.org. You are also invited to become a member, join the discussions and share your thoughts and other relevant content!
This initiative comprises an online community, a webinar series and this weekly newsletter, all of which features worldwide social protection responses to the COVID-19 crisis. It is a joint effort initiated by the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ), and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia, in collaboration with the socialprotection.org platform. Partners and organisations are welcome and strongly invited to contribute. Learn more on how to collaborate. If you have any questions or comments, please send an email to [email protected].
