Issue #2 | 01 April 2020
Due to the impacts of the recent COVID-19 outbreak on social and economic development worldwide, we are taking specific actions to collaboratively inform and provide updates on how countries are responding to the pandemic, and promote an open space for discussions on how to tackle the crisis.
This joint effort is inspired by colleagues and organisations working to disseminate the most recent content on social protection responses to COVID-19. It includes this weekly special edition of our newsletter, featuring a compilation of news, reports, legal documents and other relevant materials from all over the world (in their original language) on social protection initiatives dealing with COVID-19, weekly webinars, and an Online Community.
Everyone is invited to join and collaborate. Learn how here

Online Community
The sweeping repercussions of the COVID-19 outbreak require responses that extend far beyond the health sector, including measures to assist people in need and protect them from falling into poverty due to the pandemic. In this scenario, social protection measures have become more important than ever. Access the COVID-19 Online Community for up-to-date, country-level content on social protection policy and operational measures in response to COVID-19. Join the discussions to share your thoughts and relevant news!

This joint effort is an initiative of the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ), and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia, in collaboration with the online platform. All partners and organisations are welcome and strongly invited to contribute by sharing knowledge and discussing their findings on social protection responses to the crisis.
