socialprotection.org is a leading global online platform dedicated to knowledge sharing, capacity strengthening, and collaboration in the field of social protection. Established in 2015, following a recommendation by the G20 Development Working Group, the platform serves as a neutral space for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers to collaborate, exchange knowledge, access resources, and strengthen capacities in social protection, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries.

## Mission and Objectives
Social protection is central to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere. The platform aims to contribute to strengthening the coverage, adequacy, comprehensiveness, and sustainability of social protection systems worldwide through the implementation of universal, nationally appropriate social protection systems and floors.

## Governance and Hosting
The platform is hosted by the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD) and supported by Brazil's Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA). It benefits from a diverse network of contributors, partners, and funders, notably the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) of Australia, which has been the platform's main funder since its launch.
