Social Protection and Gender: Challenging Norms and Facilitating Social Inclusion

The COVID-19 pandemic highlights how gender interacts with other vulnerabilities to exacerbate the impacts of shocks. In light of the pandemic, governments expanded social protection programmes to meet the needs of those most affected by the crisis. In this webinar, we will be discussing whether these programmes address the vulnerabilities faced by women and, if not, how can we design and implement gender-sensitive social protection programmes. The session will also focus on the scope of social protection to address multiple dimensions of vulnerability and possibly challenge adverse social norms.
