Mainstreaming climate adaptation into social protection: The issues yet to be addressed

As  the  consequences  of  climate  change  becomebetter understood, there is growing agreement amongdevelopment practitioners and academics on the need formainstreaming climate adaptation into social protection. Thisreview paper assesses the progress in mainstreaming efforts,revealing that there has been considerable progress made todate. However, a number of critical issues relating to thechallenges of such mainstreaming in the context of develop-ing countries and the conceptual framework needed toassess the outcomes of such developmental programmes areyet to be addressed. These issues are examined in this paper.
