Czech Gender Segregation and Wage Gap with Anti-Discrimination Legislation
Using 2002 matched employer-employee data we provide evidence on the size and structure of the Czech gender wage gap after the 2000 introduction of western-type anti-discrimination policies. Despite the new legislation, within firm sex segregation continues to account for about one-third of the gender wage gap while its unexplained portion remains just under two-thirds.
