Objetivos del Programa

The objectives include (i) improve agricultural productivity, including crop diversification for enhanced food security and nutrition intake; (ii) generate additional income through skills development in nonagriculture livelihood activities using locally available materials; and (iii) establish self-help groups to develop capacities of communities in achieving greater economy of scale, enhanced marketing of products, and cooperation  

Componentes del programa
Component (i) is implemented by local governments and comprises supply of agriculture machinery; income generating activities; access to food and nutrition; and targeted activities for the poorest households. Component (ii) is implemented by the Tarayana Foundation and comprises improvement of housing; health and sanitation; self-help groups; training and development of skills; income-generating activities; access to food and nutrition.

Orientación y elegibilidad

Criterios de elegibilidad
Bhutan’s Rural Economy Advancement Programme (REAP) targets poor people, but it does not assess individual households’ income or consumption levels through an Means Test (MT) or Proxy Means Test (PMT). Rather, it targets regions with the highest poverty prevalence and grants access to all households within such areas (Low-income households).
