Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) and SP-MIS Interface

The Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) refer to the systematic collection and recording of data on vital events (such as birth, death, marriage, and divorce) that occur within a country, along with the issuance of certificates/legal documents to confirm the occurrence of these events. The goal of CRVS is to provide a comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date record of vital events, which serves as the foundation for a range of civil, legal, and social functions. The Digital Convergence Initiative (DCI) has released the first set of DCI standards on the interoperability of CRVS and Social Protection Management Information Systems, reviewed by experts from 17 different organizations including governments, international organizations, global initiatives, digital public goods, solution providers and individual experts that compose the DCI Standards Committee.
