Um ensaio sobre as reformas na previdência social brasileira

Social security is a topic of extreme relevance and impact on citizens' lives, as it is related to ensuring social protection and economic well-being. As a result, the reforms became the subject of debates and discussions, as they directly affect social security, generating consequences for society as a whole. In this way, studies and analyzes that verify the effects of reforms in social security become essential, since by analyzing these effects, it will be possible to identify what were the real changes that occurred in the social security system. This work aims to discuss the main reforms in Brazilian social security, compare them with reforms carried out in other countries and promote some reflections on challenges and future perspectives. To this end, the importance and context of social security, the Brazilian demographic transition and a brief analysis of the relationship between the so-called social security “deficit” and population aging were described, showing how the deficit did not decrease significantly even after all the reforms carried out, in addition to the main consequences being aimed at the worker, harming and leaving uncertainty about the future of the elderly population. The descriptive methodology was adopted, in which the justifications and results were demonstrated in relation to what is being analyzed, in addition to also using bibliographical research, with books, social security statistical bulletins, news, academic studies, among others.
