Towards a social pension for all older people in the Occupied Palestinian Territory

Social protection is an effective mechanism to reduce existing poverty, deprivation and marginalisation, but its real potential lies in its capacity to provide protection against universal risks and shocks that everyone faces throughout their lives, thus ensuring that people do not become destitute in the first place. This policy brief sets out to discuss options for strengthening the Palestinian pension system by presenting alternatives for the implementation of a social pension that would effectively ensure basic income security for all older women and men.
