Support Programmes for Youth Employment and Employability in the Growth Sectors in Senegal

In Senegal, approximately one in two people is under 18 years of age and the average population age is around 23 years. Given this demographic structure, the hundreds of thousands of young people entering the labour market each year are a cause for concern for the country’s government. That is why this has taken a number of initiatives by creating several public employment structures.

The study presented in this policy brief examines the sectors and branches of economic activity with the greatest potential for creating employment for women and young people in Senegal.
