The brief emerged from consultations that the Uganda Social Protection Platform (USPP) held with informal sector workers in 2019. It provides a brief description of the enabling policy framework within which social protection for the informal economy can be developed but also recognizes the limitations that have prevented the expansion of SP to informal sector workers. The brief provides a wide range of practical recommendations and areas of possible further research.
