Targeted areas
Urban and rural areas (with a specific focus on rural areas because of higher unemployment rates and unskilled youth). From 2022 project geographical coverage was expected to be significantly expanded, from 10 to 20 regions (of the country’s 33 regions and districts).

1 minimum wage (as defined by Ivory Coast legislation) and a minimum of 15 per cent (XOF10,000/month) of the earnings deposited in a savings account opened by the beneficiaries, and made available at the end of their public work period.

Benefit delivery mechanism
To spur the local digital economy, Regional Councils will be required to make payments to beneficiaries via mobile money even for beneficiaries who have a bank account.

Participants receive a temporary three-month contract, renewable for an additional three months, or a non-renewable six-month temporary contract

Monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and frequency
The Central Bureau for Employment Programs (Bureau Central des Programmes Emploi) will be responsible for overall M&E of project activities.
