Programme objectives

Program aimed at reducing the vulnerability of the agrarian population, encouraging them to establish agroforestry production systems, through the provision of economic support, in-kind support and technical support. This contributes to creating jobs, encouraging food self-sufficiency, improving the incomes of the inhabitants and recovering the forest cover of one million hectares in the country. It seeks to enhance the rural area, encouraging development and job creation.

Conditionalities (if any)
i) Financial support: Save a minimum of 10% of the economic support received. In 2020, MXN $500.00, is destined to savings,value that will be automatically discounted from the monthly economic support; of this amount, MXN $ 250 must be destined to a savings investment account in some financial institution , and MXN $ 250 must be destined to the Welfare Fund. Comply with a work plan agreed between the Productive Technician, the Social Technician and the participant. Carry out at least 80% of the activities established in the work plan and prove to the Technicians that the monthly work plan has been covered. For each production unit, only one person may receive financial support, and he/she will be responsible for the production unit. In no case may financial support be prorated with more than one person per unit of production. ii) Support in kind: Same co-responsibilities as financial support. iii) Technical support: Attend two Farmer Learning Communities (CAC) meetings per month.

Targeting and eligiblity

Target groups
Seniors, who work in the agrarian sector, live in rural towns, whose municipalities are at levels of social backwardness, have an income below the rural welfare line and who own or possess 2.5 hectares available to be worked on an agroforestry project.
