Programme objectives

To improve the living conditions of economically deprived and socially marginalised Palestinian families by supporting self-employment and micro-enterprise development, empowering the impoverished and marginalised Palestinians

Programme components
(i) Promotional and Protective Social Safety Net Activities: Economic Empowerment Grants, Economic Empowerment Non-Financial Services and Social Welfare. DEEP management had coordinated and negotiated with the providers of this protective measures to continue it, at least for 18 months from the date of the participation of the families in the DEEP through partnering with NGOs. (ii) Providing a loan a loan for a business partner: Economic Empowerment through Islamic microfinance. (iii) Capacity Building for Intermediaries Institutions

Programme expenditure
USD 500 million capital investment in 2018 by the Economic Empowerment Fund for the Palestinian People (EEFPP). Source of Funding: Managed by UNDP/PAPP with funding mostly from Arab funds via the Islamic Development Bank and under the direction of the Palestinian Authority (PA), represented by the Ministry of Social Affairs
