Programme objectives

The Subsidy for the Women's Work is part of the Ingreso Ético Familiar, its goal is to provide additional income to women and heads of household belonging to the most vulnerable families who join the labour market. The programme is aimed at working women with a dependent or an independent job, who has paid the social contributions. In addition, the programme gives a contribution to the employer seeking to encourage the hiring of women belonging to the most vulnerable groups. The amount of this subsidy is calculated according to the income and it is paid two months after completion of the application. The payment to the employer will always be on a monthly basis and to the worker will be annually, and will be paid during the second half of the next year to which the income was received.

 

Programme components
i) Cash transfer (Subsidy): Women workers will receive the subsidy if prove that their annual gross income is lower than $ 5,284,532 or the monthly gross income is lower than $ 440,378. The benefit amount depends on the income of the employee.

The employee may receive this benefit for four continuous years or at the age of 60 years old, while each employer may receive the subsidy for 24 months.

Instrument of selection: Social Household Registry (Decree 22, 2015). Working women, dependent or independent, between 25 and 59 years; women belonging to 40% socioeconomically most vulnerable of the population, according to their score on the Social Protection Registry and family income per person;
