Abrazo (Programme to progressively decrease child work in the streets)
Basic Information
Programme Details
Programme focused on reducing child labour. It includes conditional cash transfers and other activities with minors in child labour situation and their families. The programme is based on the International Convention on the Rights of the Child. It is a social response to poverty and unemployment that push families to work on the streets to survive. In addition, it is based on Article 8 of the Code of Children and Adolescents, which states that poverty should not be a cause of separation between children and their families, so the State must create opportunities for those families. Within the activities of the program, families receive periodic visits for support and verification of co-responsibilities, in which commitments and goals are established to generate a process of change.
