Khadil Mpandhu, 84 is a resident of Kirongo village, Bukabooli sub county Bunya East County, Mayuge district. Mayuge is one of the 20 new districts that were added onto the Senior Citizens Grants scheme in Financial Year 2015/16 under the Government current plan to roll out the grants to 40 additional districts in the next 5 years. The first payment of the monthly grants of UGX25, 000 were made in Mayuge in June 2016.

A practicing Muslim Khadil, is husband to two wives, and a father to seven children; six girls, one boy. For 32 years his main source of income was making local drums and weaving papyrus mats, and farming on his three acre plot of land, that is now over cultivated.
