Webinar Presentation: The Adaptive Social Protection Program in Sahel
Webinar Presentation: The Adaptive Social Protection Program in Sahel
Slide presentation of the webinar held on 2 April 2020. The Sahel Adaptive Social Protection Program was launched in March 2014 to support the design and implementation of adaptive social protection programs and systems in six Sahel countries: Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, and Senegal. The Sahel’s adaptive social protection systems consist of policies and programs to help poor and vulnerable households build resilience, reduce the impact of climatic change and other shocks, and foster access to income-earning opportunities. The program is underpinned by a multi-country randomized control trial to evaluate the impacts of these interventions among safety nets beneficiaries. This webinar examined the design rationale, steps taken in delivering the programs, and early insights and lessons learned on designing and implementing economic inclusion approaches through national safety net systems.
