The 11th Five Year Plan document directs the Department of Labour to institute a social protection system for the country through the development and implementation of a Social Protection Policy and National Pension Policy for the Private Sector. In addition, the department has also been directed to review the national minimum wage and introduce retirement benefits to the National Workforce, and introduce 2 insurance schemes for unemployed and disabled workers.
