This Strategic Plan was developed under the oversight of a Social Protection Working Committee (SPWC) that was formed at the direction of the Office of the President of Myanmar (Order No. 57/ 2014), and that is chaired by the Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. The Committee consists of a broad range of Government sector ministries as well as non-governmental organisations, and was tasked with developing a universal social protection system based on the needs of all people and that is supportive of the country’ s poverty alleviation and rural development programs
