We Deserve Better: Unlocking the Power of Social Protection for Women and Girls

The sixty-eighth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place from 11 to 22 March 2024. Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are invited to contribute to the session.

Themes

  • Priority theme: Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective
  • Review theme: Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls (agreed conclusions of the sixty-third session).

Convened by UNICEF, Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO), and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation in collaboration with partners this side-event will take place in Conference Room 12 (General Assembly Building).

This event is preceded by a short mini documentary screening, panel and evening reception with photo exhibition by Young Lives on March 13 at 6:00 – 8:00PM at UNICEF House.
