The ISSA Guidelines on Prevention of Occupational Risks offer practical guidance for social security institutions in the area of prevention. This includes basic conditions that every social security institution covering occupational risks should put in place as well as a range of activities and services that may be relevant to the institution. These include incentive systems; information and communication; prevention and early detection of occupational diseases and early intervention; consulting services; research; development of skills and training; collaboration and the use of prevention networks, promotion of a prevention culture; addressing small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as addressing specific risks.
