Rural Development and Food Security Forum 2019
The 2019 Rural Development and Food Security Forum aims to share and learn from good practices, recent trends, and innovations to promote rural development and achieve food security; strategize ways and means to scale up innovations in the Asia-Pacific region; and discuss ways to build and strengthen synergies, networks, and partnerships. Discussions will focus on:
- Rural development which aims to improve access to services, attract private sector investments, and generate jobs in rural areas;
- Modern agricultural value chains which aims to distribute food from farmers to consumers, improve farmers’ profitability, and provide safe, nutritious, and affordable food; and
- Food security which aims to build food systems to sustainably produce more with less resources while addressing malnutrition.
