Linking social protection to sustainable livelihoods: The way forward for Indonesia

Speakers from the Government of the Philippines, Government of Paraguay, Fundacion Capital (Colombia) and BRAC USA have shared their insights. 



Indonesia implements a number of employment, enterprise, and training programmes designed to contribute to employment generation. A knowledge gap exists on whether such schemes respond to the employment needs of the poorest families.

With support from the Australian Government (DFAT), the National Planning Development Agency (BAPPENAS) and MAHKOTA hosted a one day learning event to bring together key stakeholders to discuss the current context of social protection and employment in Indonesia, including constraints and priorities in moving forward. Key findings and recommendations were shared from a MAHKOTA commissioned study on livelihood opportunities for social protection beneficiaries in Indonesia.
