As about a third of the world population goes on quarantine, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to ravage. It has come to manifest not just as a public health crisis but also as an economic upheaval. Despite the resilience of Africa’s economy during the 2008 global financial crisis, the region is likely to experience its first recession in 25 years, reversing many economic gains achieved in the last decades.
