Uchechi is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Economics at Lingnan University , Hong Kong. Her research interests are related to Maternal and Child Welfare, Early Child Development, Adolescent and Youth Well-being. Her PhD research is related to the welfare of children in Nigerian families, which is funded by the prestigious Hong Kong PhD fellowship program. She possesses a Masters' degree from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. Prior to embarking on a Doctoral degree programme, Uchechi worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka from 2013-2016. She is also passionate about improving education at all levels. Based on her passions, in 2017 she founded Evan and Gabriel Consulting Nigeria, which aims at working with Secondary and University students make the right course choices, and helping them with their transitions from one level to another. In 2018, she co-founded the Global South Research and Policy Group (GSRPG) in partnership with a fellow PhD student, Getrude Dadirai Gwenzi. The GSRPG is an online platform that offers mentorship to postgraduate students and prospective researchers from the Global South.
