On 6 March, PhD researcher Chandreyi Guharay, will give a lecture on 'Social Protection on the Move: A Transnational Exploration of Nicaraguan Migrant Women’s Engagement with Social Protection in Spain and Nicaragua'. The lecture is part of the Migration Seminar Series held at the International Institute of Social Studies.
Spain's ICT development agency Red.es announced that it will be allocating EUR 12 million of public funds to support the digital transformation of social services in the Andalucia region. A number of ICT initiatives will be carried out under the deal reached with the Junta de Andalucia, above all the creation of an electronic health database with information on the care, planning, monitoring and evaluation needs of all interventions carried out in the area of social services.
Regional authorities in Madrid are asking homeless people to declare their income from begging, busking and scrap metal collection in order to be eligible for public aid. Individuals applying for guaranteed minimum income benefits, known as Renta Mínima de Inserción (RMI), are being told to present a sworn statement listing their street earnings, as though it were income from a regular job.
This training will focus on different financial instruments intended for persons with disabilities, their implementation and monitoring in line with the UNCRPD.
