Welcome to the April edition of our monthly newsletter!
World Health Day is observed on 7 April of each year. Last week, we probably faced the most challenging World Health Day yet, due to the impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak. The disease has been pressuring the health sector, the economy and the social protection systems of all countries worldwide.

This is a joint edition of our monthly newsletter, which also features the special edition of our weekly COVID-19 newsletter, bringing together some of our traditional sessions and the mapping with the links to keep you updated of the social protection measures taken all over the world to respond to this crisis. E-learning
The socialprotection.org platform has recently launched its first self-paced online course: “Poverty Analysis to Achieve SDGs 1 and 2”. It is offered by the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG) and co-authored and co-sponsored by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The course covers multiple inter-sectoral elements and processes that are vital for policy and programme design and implementation in sub-Saharan African countries, in an effort to reach Sustainable Development Goals 1 (end poverty in all its forms everywhere) and 2 (end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture), especially in rural areas. Click here for more information and to start the course.
