Lazarus Muchabaiwa is an economist by profession currently pursuing PhD Economics in adolescent and child sexual and reproductive healthcare utilization at the University of Kwazulu Natal. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Economics. He is a lecturer in the Economics department at Bindura University of Science Education. He has carried out surveys at government health facilities and development partner projects, value for money assessments as well as evaluating and costing the National HIV AIDS strategic plan. He has carried out a feasibility and sustainability assessment project for community based health financing in rural areas in Zimbabwe. He has also been trained for public expenditure reviews and public procurement by the World Bank. He has worked as a costing/VfM consultant, health economist, and quantitative methods consultant. He has conducted Economic Evaluations for clinical trial projects, for Uganda and Zimbabwe, written publications and liaising with donors. He managed two institutional research grants as well as an external research grant from the Research Council of Zimbabwe. His research publications profile can be found at
