Background

socialprotection.org aims to facilitate knowledge-sharing on effective social protection policies and programmes, as well as contribute to capacity strengthening by drawing on the experiences of Low-Income Countries (LICs) and Middle-Income Countries (MICs). It strives to achieve this goal by being a centralised platform through which to access the most up-to-date, comprehensive database and multimedia learning materials on social protection.

The unbranded platform provides mechanisms to inspire discussions on topics related to social protection among a highly inclusive community of social protection practitioners, accommodating policy-makers, experts and students, extending from the individual to the institutional level. A taxonomy for data classification has been specifically developed to facilitate content classification and search as well as the exchange of experiences.

Social protection is key for the realization of Sustainable Development Goal 1, to end poverty in all its forms everywhere, via the implementation of universal, national social protection floors, to ensure no one is left behind. Socialprotection.org is committed to generating knowledge for the promotion of innovative and effective social protection policies, with the ambition of contributing to the inclusive growth and productive development necessary for the achievement of SDG1.
