Funds to assist social services after cyclone

$300,000 pa’anga has been allocated to provide psychossocial support to those dealing with stress after losing homes during severe Tropical Cyclone Gita in February this year. The funds from the National Emergency Recovery Committee (NERC) is for a Safety and Protection Cluster working to address psychosocial support and enact social provisions to help individuals who have been dealing with the stress of losing their homes and other issues stemming from the worst cyclone that hit Tonga in many years.

Acting Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Chairman of this cluster ‘Onetoto ‘Anisi said the needs of the most vulnerable individuals were a constant concern and priority for the cluster. Leer Más
