World Bank report urges gov'ts to invest more in education and health

The World Bank on Thursday called on governments around the world to invest more in education and health in its flagship World Development Report 2019 presented in the Swiss capital of Bern. Saying that disruptive technologies are changing the world of work globally, the report also called for employees to be protected from negative social impacts and to strengthen the mobilization of financial resources within developing countries. The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs and the World Bank on Thursday jointly hosted a launching event on the bank's annual report, which mainly deals with the impacts of technology on work and what governments can do concerning human capital, social protection and taxation systems.
