ITC-ILO Academy on Social Security 2018

The Academy on Social Security, the International Labour Organisation’s flagship annual event on Social Protection will kick-off on September 17, 2018 at the ILO’s International Training Centre (ITC-ILO) in Turin.

This year, in partnership with the platform, the ITC-ILO will livestream various of its plenary sessions for free. Bringing together key international experts from think tanks, academia, the civil society and other international organisations beyond the ILO, the Academy on Social Security will continue to promote knowledge sharing and debate around the main areas, current state and future of social protection.

The Academy aims at enhancing the capacity of national and international high-level decision, policy-makers and practitioners to better design, implement, supervise and evaluate  national social security policies and schemes. Counting with over 100 participants from all around the world each year, this flagship event has become a key platform for the engagement of a diverse set of actors working towards the achievement of the provision and extension of social security systems for all. Right at the core of the ILO’s mission and its International Training Centre’s mandate, such an event provides the opportunity for mutual learning and exchange as well as the critical reflection of participants around the latest developments, challenges and opportunities arising in the social security and protection field.
