This Online Community is dedicated to socialprotection.org's Child Allowance Webinar Series. The Series aims to present a variety of child allowance programmes from across the globe. The webinars serve as a platform by which to discuss a range of policy-relevant topics related to child allowance programmes. This includes whether they should be targeted or universal, conditional or unconditional, how high their benefits should be, and how they can be financed. Moreover, the webinars aim to identify best practices from each of the presented programmes. We invite members to propose or calloborate in the realisation of future webinars and propose new topics for the Child Allowance Webinar Series
The first webinar, in August, addressed the South African Child Support Grant. The second webinar explored the Uruguayan Asignaciones Familiares Programme in late September. The third webinar, set to take place in late October, will present Mongolia's Universal Child Allowance programme. All three have been organised by the International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth.
This Online Community allows webinar audience members to submit their comments and questions and to engage in more in-depth discussions with the presenters, commenters and moderators after the event. The Community also welcomes more general contributions related to child allowance programmes and child-sensitive social protection.
