The Berlin Global Learning Forum aims at encouraging global knowledge sharing by means of peer-to-peer learning among social protection practitioners. The first Forum meeting focused on Emerging Social Protection Systems in an Urbanizing World and brought together 73 participants from 4 continents. It was hosted by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Program: Global Alliances for Social Protection, jointly with the World Bank Group and took place in Berlin from 24-26 June 2015. The Berlin Forum complements the “South-South Learning Forum” organized by the “Global Practice on Social Protection and Labor” of the World Bank Group since 2010.
