The Week will bring together the partners of the “Global Alliances Program for Social Protection II” supported by the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) and professionals from the Ministries of Social Affairs and Protection from Asia, Africa and Latin America.

It will have three related sections:

1) Initial Workshop of Global Alliances for Social Protection II

2) Field Trip

3) Dialogue on Extreme Poverty and Social Protection.

All participants will have the chance, along with representatives from international organizations and the academic field, to share experiences and approaches in the fight to end poverty in all its forms, the challenge of “leaving no one behind” and the crucial commitment of social protection, as a way of reducing poverty and extreme poverty, achieving more gender equality, reducing economic inequality and promoting quality jobs according to the Goals of the Development Agenda 2030.

In partnership with the socialprotection.org platform, various sessions will be livestreamed on October 4th and 5th (Mexico City time, GMT -5). Both days are dedicated to the topic 'Dialogue on Extreme Poverty and Social Protection - Leaving no One Behind', with the participation of international organizations that have collaborated with SEDESOL in the programmes focused on social protection and fighting poverty, such as the World Bank, IADB, UNDP, ILO, ECLAC, FAO, UNICEF, UNFPA, UN-Women, UN-Habitat, above all.
