The ISSA European Network (IEN) will organize a Technical Seminar on Gender mainstreaming in social security on 31 May-1 June 2018 in Reykjavík, Iceland, hosted by the the Social Insurance Administration of Iceland (Tryggingastofnun ríkisins - TR) and the Ministry of Welfare in Iceland.
The issue of inequalities across the life course has been identified as one of the main challenges for social security in the ISSA landmark publication “10 global challenges for social security”.
In order to address inequalities linked to gender in social security, the ISSA European Network (IEN) will organize a Technical Seminar on the theme of “Gender mainstreaming in social security systems” from 31 May to 1 June 2018 in Reykjyavík, hosted by the Social Insurance Administration of Iceland.
The seminar will focus on issues regarding gender equality in social security, in particular for pension systems and health insurance, with special emphasis on gender mainstreaming as a strategy and its integration into policies and programs.
The seminar is open to all ISSA member organizations from the European region and invited participants. The working language will be English.
