The Executive Summer School is organized by the University of Leuven in cooperation with the European Institute of Social Security.
This intensive, postgraduate-level Executive Summer School aims to provide participants with basic knowledge of social security in its various aspects.
The Summer School will last two-and-a-half weeks and will be held at the end of August through early September (For 2017: 28 August - 12 September). Participants must attend all classes.
The Summer School is designed around two courses, each worth 10 ECTS:
- Comparative study of the social security systems (Summer School)
- Social security law, policy & economics (Summer School)
Each course includes 30 contact hours. Participants are expected to prepare the required course material in advance.
Course readers will be made available to participants two months before classes begin. Each course will also include a take-home exercise that must be handed in within two months of the end of the Summer School. The programme includes 2 exams, which will be taken the final two days of the Summer School. A postgraduate certificate will be awarded after successful completion of the two exams and the two exercises.
